Stoney Cove is one of the deepest inland diving centres in the UK. The former quarry site is an internationally renowned dive training centre used by both the public and military in dive training.
Nemo’s is a bar and restaurant which has operated from the site for a number of years. The access to the bar was via a narrow walkway on the upper level. The lower level of the building was a former nightclub which had fallen into disrepair although the glass dance floor over the water was still in place!
Hayward Architects gained planning for a replacement walkway which will more than double the amount of outdoor seating for the restaurant with a triangular cantilevered section over the water. AS part of the works a whole section of the restaurant and nightclub is being re-built to provide support. This section of the building sits within the water creating unique challenges.
Further updates will be added to this page as the works progress.

This former Santander bank was purchased by our client with a view to creating an independent coffee shop and multi function community space in the heart of Hinckley Town Centre. Although the bank was not one of the oldest buildings in the town it does have a striking frontage that both the council and client were keen to retain and enhance.
The coffee shop is now a thriving hub for the community of Hinckley.

Hayward Architects have been working with Ullesthorpe GC and Green Tyger design over a number of years to deliver a new driving range, Par 3 short course, Pro-Shop and auxiliary accommodation to bring the golf course into the 21st Century.
Our primary focus was on creating a new pro-shop and offices along with a new range building to serve the revamped driving range. Around 100,000 tonnes of soil have been imported to the site to level the field that will become the new range with a new 21 bay driving range building including start of the art video and teaching bays.
The pro-shop will replace the small one currently located in the main club house and allow for the existing clubhouse to be remodelled to create a modern destination golf club supported by the adjacent hotel.

Our client at Hall Farm asked us to design 2 bespoke Glamping Lodges in a rural barn/stable style that would sit alongside the previous holiday lodge we had created at the site.
The 2 units are a mirror of each other but provide accomodation for 2 couples each with a covered patio, hot tub and outdoor shower. Both units have excellent views across the Leicestershire Countryside.
